Resumo: O setor de saúde no Brasil enfrenta dificuldades relacionadas principalmente à estrutura financeira, administrativa e organizacional. A Central de Material Esterilizado (CSM) fornece material para os outros departamentos do hospital e é essencial para o bom funcionamento dos cuidados assistenciais. Este trabalho investiga a estratégia de operações de uma CME em um hospital público. Há uma expectativa, por parte dos gestores da operação, de que ela precise de recursos humanos adicionais para atender à demanda atual. Durante a pesquisa, avaliamos esse incremento e mostramos que o quantitativo de recursos humanos não são os limitadores da capacidade da operação. Avançamos e apresentamos uma alternativa que não implica em investimento e aumenta a capacidade instalada. As contribuições desta pesquisa trazem, em meio à crise financeira vivenciada, a possibilidade de atender mais e melhor a demanda interna, sem qualquer contribuição financeira. Trata-se de mostrar a potencialidade de reunir profissionais e acadêmicos, aplicando métodos e ferramentas de apoio à tomada de decisão no setor de saúde.
Improve Center of Sterilized Material Performance
Abstract: The health sector in Brazil faces difficulties related mainly to financial, administrative, and organizational structure. Center of Sterilized Material (CSM) provide material for the other components of the hospital, and is essential for the proper working of medical care. This work investigates CSM strategy operation in a public hospital. There is an expectation that it needs additional human resources to meet the current demand. During the research, we evaluated this increment and showed that the critical resource is not the human one. We went forward and presented an alternative that does not prescind of investment and increase the installed capacity. The contributions of this research, brings, in the midst of the financial crisis experienced, the possibility of meeting more and better the internal demand, without any financial contribution. It’s about showing the potentiality of bringing together professionals and academics, applying methods and management tools in the health sector.
